I booked this lodge online so never 100% sure if it owuld live up to the pictures. I was visiting for a few days from the USA. The hotel felt like home from the moment I walked through the door. Wendy and Mick are super friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing is too much bother and the place is impeccably decorated.... More

My wife and I returned to Ivythwaite for a second time during May 2013 for another weekend. This time we tried self catering staying in the charming “Cranny” a beautiful very well appointed split level apartment. We really enjoyed our stay and love this location looking forward to our next break at Ivythwaite.

Recently had another unplanned stay in the Lakes. Though rainy my Husband and I still enjopyed the little tea rooms, breath taking scenery and lovely walks in and around Windermere. As usual our stay was made even more special with Ivythwaite Lodge. Mick and Wendy were welcoming and chatty and as usual delivered the fantastic breakfasts we have come to... More

Perfect location halfway between Windermere and the lake but it is on a quiet side street away from the main road. Service and breakfast was brilliant and served in the dining room at 9.00am with the log burner lit and candles on the table. After hiking the fells we had a double sized spa bath to both relax in. Who... More

Good location, good value for money, excellent bathroom with jacuzzi bath for the same price as a shower elsewhere! Little things let it down, like no toilet roll holder, 14'' portable tv in corner of a large room, only 1chair in room.Breakfast was good but would be nice to be asked if you would like more toast instead of being... My partner and i visited the Ivythwaite for a last minute anniversary celebration. We stayed in a large, comfortable room which was decorated cozily, tastefully and in a contemporary fashion. The breakfasts were superb and there were a great range(I enjoyed a delicious smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast on toast and lovely pancakes the next day while my boyfriend had two... More

Just back from a last minute 2 night break in Windermere (14th to 16th January). Looked at lots of hotels and guesthouses prior to booking as I knew it was a quiet time of year and there would be availability and offers around. In the end we went for the Ivythwaite Lodge Guesthouse as we have stopped there previously and... More

This is my first ever review on tripadvisor, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here that it would only be a small token of our appreciation to post a review. There was absolutely nothing to fault, everything was perfect. The rooms are tastefully decorated to a high standard, the breakfast is superb, the location is great and the owners welcoming nature...
