As you can see from my previous reviews I've been to Gilpin a few times. It just gets better and better the food is now well worth a Michelin star! The service has even though you wouldn't think it possible, has got better. Again I had a garden suite really nice rooms - can we have iPod docks though? More

My mother and I stayed at Gilpin for two nights for my 40th birthday, in Haystacks, one of the Garden suites. Our stay was perfect, from start to finish. Every member of staff was friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble (right down to digging Mum's Mini out of the sudden snowfall and driving it down the steep drive... More

Having previously used this hotel we thought we would try the afternnon tea which provied rather a disapointment especially in view of the price. The main lounge area is comfortable and nicely appointmed and on this occasion we had good service rather than the rather sullen waitress when we last had lunch there. The tea consisted of a small range... More

My wife and I stayed for one night only at the Gilpin lodge in a junior suite on a business trip to Kendal. The hotel was recommended to us by our business associate in Kendal and it certainly did not disappoint. From the moment that we arrived at the hotel until our departure the next day it was a most... Just spent two excelllent nights at the Lake House. A real home from home. The service was excellent and friendly; a rare combination that's hard to find these days. We think every home should have a Rita :) Location is tranquil with great views of the Tarn. Drinks are served in the Lake house before and after dinner; as is... More
