If you want a no nonsense pub with good food and a warm atmosphere, look no further. True the decor may be a bit old, but in my opinion that adds to the charm of the place and gives it character. My wife and I have just returned from a very enjoyable stay with our friends, we were made to... More

After a miserable morning attempting Blencathra we called our walk short and headed back to Mungrisdale and the welcome shelter of the Mill Inn. Andrew made us very welcome and the beer and food were second to none and very good value. Will definitely return when we attempt Blencathra again. Worth going out of your way to visit this hidden... My mum and I stayed here for one night on our way back down from the Isle of Skye. We'd asked for a twin room - the room had a very very large double so it was fine. Both dog cages fitted in fine. The evening meal and the breakfast were excellent - but, boy, they fill their plates well... More

We wanted to stay one night in the area because friends were staying nearby. We found the Mill Inn and what a treasure. Immediately enjoyable when met by the friendly owner and staff. Clean and well presented with an excellent menu based on local produce - the meals we tried were all well cooked and of ample portions. No surprise... More

Lovely character country inn with a very warm welcome from the first minute through the door. The double room was compact but adequate for a weekend stay or more, clothes storage was ok for a weekend stay but may be an issue for longer periods. The room was clean and the ensuite facilities modern and clean. Location is excellent with... More

Stopped here for a bite to eat after a walk on the fells. The Mill Inn was recommended for it's delicious food by the warden at Troutbeck Head caravan park. We weren't disappointed. Service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome. Our dog had his first ever pub lunch and a nice relaxing rest by the log fire.... More
