We stayed at the anchorage for a long weekend in mid March and dispite the typical Lakes weather enjoyed our stay. Linda was very welcoming and helpful. Both room number 2(double) and 4(Triple) were clean and satisfactory with views of the surrounding mountains. The only down side to the Anchorage is the slightly narrow car park if you have a... The anchorage is a lovely b&b with a car park round the back. Very useful especially with all the cars parked on the street! Linda and andrew are very nice, friendly and were very helpful. The room was very big with a stylish en-suite. Tv with DVD player and brilliant comfy beds! A nice touch was the bookshelf on the... More

Our eagerly anticipated stay did not meet expectations. The loft room was small, the floor sloped, items rolling down the bedside table, wardrobe was a grotty cupboard, with a previous guests discarded belongings. The 'ensuite' shower was a fight to get in each morning and evening. The television was, as a previous reviewer claimed, the smallest you couldn't see and... More

The Anchorage dates from 1849 and sloping floors in houses of this age could be considered part of the character and charm of an older property. Unfortunately the wardrobe is in a corner of the room with a dark interior which is possibly why we missed seeing the items of clothing left in there (not a normal occurrence!) & these... More

Myself, my mum and aunt all stayed in the one room and were very comfortable. The owner was very friendly and accommodating and cooks up a lovely breakfast! Will definitely come back! More

We stayed in this newly available self catering property in august. Although only 2 rooms and shower room it was surprisingly spacious with lovely high ceilings. The amenities were clean and of a good standard with all the equipment we needed. The nifty kitchen in a cupboard is not suitable for extensive catering but plenty good enough to keep you... More

The owner left the morning after our arrival, due to unforseen circumstances, and her stand-in made our 5 night break enjoyable. Our disappointment was with the cramp bathroom and no lounge, the television was the smallest I've seen and the complimentary coffee etc were for one person not two. It was altogether the most uncomfortable few days. I am amazed that... More

On booking the lady requested a first floor room, both of which have baths (rather than showers) which take up more space but are much appreciated by walkers. In line with many B&Bs these days we have no guest lounge and do not claim to have one, the TVs in some of the rooms are of a standard size for... More

it 's an ok place to stay but nothing special, the place is looking a bit tired and in need of some tlc, don't get me wrong the place was very clean and tidy but the pictures makes it look better than it is, breakfast was ok but a bit small, one morning i counted 16 baked beans on my... More

The guest house is situated quite close to the centre of Keswick, maybe 5 or 10 minutes walk depending on your pace. Our room was for 3 people, we had plenty of space and was really clean, it had a TV / DVD combined, with plenty of films on offer to watch, essential when you have a bored 10 year... More
