Just back from this lovely place. No one to meet us when we arrived - although there was a note for us together with our keys and we wandered about and found our lovely little room in the grounds. We stayed in "Rowan": lovely bedroom and bathroom. Warm, clean, good towels and comfy bed (when you avoided the zippy-together bit).... More

This was a very lovely guest house in a tranquil setting. The staff were friendly and helpful, yet stayed behind the scenes. They had a decent library of music, books and dvds for lending. The bed in our room (9) was extremely comfortable, and we heard an owl outside our window at night. I was very grateful that they offered... More

I visited Yewfield on a Yoga/meditation weekend run by Steve Emmett, it was really wonderful. The guest rooms are so comfortable and are well equipped. The lounge and dining area are pleasingh to the eye, they have been refurbished to the highest standard in lovely soothing colours and the lounge has a wonderful wood burning stove which is a pleasure... This is an impressive house with stunning views across the lake District. It has been beautifully restored and with its open log fire and plush furnishings it is tempting to stay indoors. But outside the front door there are 80 acres of privately owned woodland for guests to explore and paths leafding to national park trails. The house is also... More

This was my sixth stay at Yewfield and it continues to be a real haven of peace and beauty. The views from the Guest House are amazing, the breakfasts were nourishing and fresh and the room was spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed excellent meals at Zeffirelis and Fellinis. More

We loved Yewfield so much when we stayed earlier in the year that we couldn't wait to come back. There is no doubt that Yewfield must be the most restful, relaxing and beautiful guest houses in the Lake District. All of the staff are wonderfully welcoming and the atmosphere is so calm. We took advantage of the 3 nights with... More

The Yewfield is an impressive building set in some beautiful grounds. We upgraded to a suite that was fantastic - with a sitting area, fire, comfy bed, impressive stereo system and a lovely light bathroom with a sunken jacuzzi bath and great views over the surrounding countryside. The vegetarian breakfast was lovely and the lounge area really welcoming. The DVD... More
