We stayed here over the May bank holiday, and had the 4 poster bedroom. The wow factor of being shown into the room is great, its like a suite, with the bathroom having its own dressing area and being much bigger than most rooms we normally stay in. Not to mention the bedroom and sitting area - better than you... More

Booked at short notice as it was still too cold to camp! Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Great location, 2 mins walk from the town up a country lane (torches & umbrellas provided). Ideal base for walking from the doorstep, which the owners were more than happy to help with suggesting routes. Lovely spacious rooms and even bigger... More

We visited Walker Ground Manor over Easter 2013. We had a very warm welcome from Andrea, and shown to our room. Our room was huge, the bed was huge, the en-suite bathroom was through the ....dressing room! Yes dressing table, large mirrors all very girlie. The focal point of the bathroom was the stand alone roll top bath, complete with... More

We stayed here for a romantic weekend. The verandah room is like a cosy cottage overlooking the garden, a few steps from the main house. The super-sized double is actually 2 singles, but we didn't notice; the wooden beams in the peaked ceiling looked charming; the armchairs made it a very comfortable stay. The two ended bath, the afternoon cake... More

Arrived whilst the Hawshead Show was in progress but Doug and Andrea were not there so I found a letter for me by the front door telling me that the keys were in the greenhouse and we were to go in and make ourselves comfortable. Found them both a little later and had a chat. But we had been previously... More

We stayed at Walker Ground between Christmas and New Year 2012. Dougie and Andrea were very welcoming and our room, The Veranda, was large, even though it's the smallest room of the 3, with a little entrance hall which makes it seem even bigger and a generous sized bathroom. The gardens were beautiful even for December and we managed to... More

Booked both the front and rear room for an overnight stay heading from South Wales 'up north'. Owners very welcoming, lovely and quiet with spectacular views. Set back from the village which is only a few minutes walk away. Easy access to lots of local amenities. This B&B comes highly recomended! Thank you! P.S Breakfast was stunning!

Stayed here for 2 nights, wanting some peace and quiet. The garden room was lovely and had its own entrance. Nice extras in the room and looking out on the garden was a bonus. The hosts were welcoming. Only a short walk into Hawkshead down a lovely country lane. Worth every penny. Breakfast was good too, lots of choice and... More

We stayed here for two nights for my birthday. It is set in a peaceful spot just above the village of Hawkshead but only a few minutes walk down into the village. We left out car in the car park and walked down. The only noise that can be heard of birds tweeting and lambs bleeting which is lovely! Our... More
