We are just coming to the end of our 2 night stay in The Barn. We have had a wonderful relaxing short break and would highly recommend staying here. * The Barn is beautiful and has everything you need for your stay * super comfy beds with stunning views * large modern bathroom with a roomy bath and lovely shower * kitchen area fully equipped * the location is perfect. Grizedale Forest is 5 mins walk from the back of the property and in the other direction Hawkshead village is a 5 minute walk.

We stayed in the garden annexe which was just what we needed for a relaxing get away. We love feeling part of the garden and waking up to the sound of the waterfall and fresh air. The accommodation is run extremely efficiently with just the right amount of input from the owners who go out of their way to help you have fantastic holiday but also leave you to your own devices. A very friendly and special place to stay with the most delicious breakfasts. Excellent location with Hawkshead in walking distance and the rest of the lake district on your doorstep Thank you Sue and Richard. We will be back!

We enjoyed a really relaxing break to the Lakes staying at Walker Ground Manor. The hosts were great and the room was amazing (Garden View Room). We were greeted by Sue with a pot of tea and some homemade cherry cake which we had in the lovely garden. The breakfast menu has to be filled in the night before which we thought was brilliant and has a very comprehensive choice of items. The bed and the room as a whole were extremely comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was one of the best we have had while staying away everything was fresh and the bacon on the full Cumbrian melted in your mouth, the eggs were from the hens in the garden and the bread was homemade. We gave this place full marks and we would definitely like to return and rent the Barn next time to bring the kids, just need to talk Sue into doing the breakfasts for the Barn too. On the location, Hawkshead which is a short walk away is a lovely little village with places to eat, pubs, and shops selling local produce, all in all a great break.

Sue and Richard are exceptional hosts. They have a beautiful home on the edge of Hawkshead. We were greeted by Sue who offered a very welcome pot of tea in their conservatory. Sue showed us our room with a super king 4 poster bed and a bathroom with both a bath and walk-in shower. Sue recommended dining at a local bistro - Poppy Red. Exceptional a la carte breakfast - all in all the Walker Ground Manor is worthy of the highest rating in every aspect.

This is a fantastic B&B. Very well appointed and nothing is too much trouble for the owners. The location is superb and the breakfast one of the best we have had. We are looking forward to our next stay with Sue and Richard.

The hosts Sue and Richard are friendly and welcoming as well as being very knowledgeable on local walks and amenities. They have won an award for their breakfasts and it is very deserved. It is exceptional. They even provide a 'handbag treat' as an extra for free which are delicious baked goods ...couldn't ask for anything more.

The Walker Ground Manor is difficult to fault in any way. Our four poster room was spotlessly clean, spacious and full of character, with great views over the surrounding countryside. There was an excellent choice for breakfast and everything was beautifully cooked and presented. Sue and Richard were great hosts and we would certainly stay with them again the next time we visit Hawkshead.

Stayed at Walker Ground Manor for third time, Veranda room was lovely. Sue and Richard couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfasts fantastic, great variety. Drinks and cake on arrival, which was a nice touch. Could request extra tea, coffee, water etc each day, even homemade treats!!!!!! The gardens are beautiful, bird song, sound of the waterfall, lambs baaaing in the field, heaven. Everything was perfect, didn’t want to leave.

Walker Ground Manor is a lovely house in a great location. Sue and Richard were ideal hosts and the cooked breakfast and overall choice of different food options was superb. We stayed in the 4 poster room and it was excellent - spacious, warm and very comfortable with a fantastic ensuite. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Lakes who wants great walks, pubs and stunning scenery all on your doorstep.
