This is one of the best B&Bs I have ever stayed in. The owners have renovated this old building into a wonderful and comfortable place to stay. The rooms were very comfortable yet the character of the old house was still there. We felt very at home there and got a good sound sleep. Breakfast was delicious. Fresh and cooked to order. My son is a big eater and he got plenty to fill him up. I usually prefer a smaller breakfast, but the food was so yummy I ate a full breakfast both days. I cannot say enough good things about how friendly the owners are. John gave us excellent local advise and let us borrow his ordinance survey map for the day. So helpful! There are no phones in the rooms, but when my sons grandmother rang to check up on him (his earlier phone call to her on a payphone was disconnected and she was worried) Ann brought their own phone to our room. It was very kind of her. In the reception area there are some handmade cards made by a local photographer. Nice, inexpensive souveniers of such a beautiful area of the world. I will stay here every time I can get to the lakes district.…

Force Mill Farm is tucked away in the forests of Grizedale, a couple of miles from the Grizedale visitor centre and not far from Satterthwaite. John and Ann the proprietors, were very friendly and welcoming. They had a wealth of interesting information about the area and suggested some excellent local walks. The room was spacious and beautifully clean and cosy. The full breakfast was very nice and the location was stunning ( there is a gorgeous stream just yards away from the house) It is the perfect place for getting away from it all. Close enough to lots of awesome sights but a little off the beaten track of the usual tourist tailbacks.
