The Swan's a friendly hotel at the foot of very walkable hills (the postcard routes of recommended walks for 50p are a really nice touch: the one we followed was excellent). We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Swan Hotel at Grasmere. We just managed to make it home with diesel squirting out from out car.
