What the weather lacked (lots of hail) the hospitality made up for it. We were given a warm welcome and showed to our room with glorious views over the lake. Breakfast was delicious which is high praise since we own a cafe. We were constantly made to feel welcome without an invasion to our privacy or feeling like we were... More

I recently stayed here for one night with my boyfriend. Angela & Mark are a lovely couple. Could not be more helpful. Shown up to our room & offered help with our bags (never get that in big hotels anymore!) The room was very comfortable, nice spacious bathroom & a fantastic view across the lake. No tea & coffee facilities... More

We have now visited Angela and Martin at least half a dozen times and following another fantastic visit this week, we're about to book our next fix! We have two small children (21 months and 4 years old) so the welcoming guest living room, with its log fire is a haven for us in the evening, whilst the children sleep... More

First stay and recommend unreservedly. Angela and Martin amazing hosts. So helpful as to where to go and how to get there - nothing too much trouble. Maps galore. Happy to dry your clothes if you get soaked. Spacious room, spacious bathroom and a shower that WORKS. Wonderful view. Accomodating re diet restrictions etc - Angela even bought me some... More

After many visits over the last thirty years we have never tired of visiting Banerigg! The wonderful hospitality, accommodation, food and happy atmosphere are outstanding and, as always, we are looking forward to our next stay. It’s lovely to know that our children (both now in their 20’s) still want to visit and, with some collusion with Angela and Martin,... More

This is our second stay in Banerigg and we love it even more! Angela and Martin are fantastic hosts. They were so friendly we felt as if we have known them for years! We stayed in the en-suite front room which was lovely, comfortable, clean, spacious and had an amazing view to Grasmere lake. Clean towels were put in our... More

Since my last review I have stayed twice more at Banerigg Guest House. The situation, immediately opposite Grasmere lake, is stunning. The room had a beautiful lake view and was tastefully decorated and furnished with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious, scrupulously clean and everything worked perfectly. The breakfasts were amazing: not just the cooked food, but also... More

Nothing is too much trouble they are very accommodating and do their best to help. After the initial shock of no tv anywhere I actually found it to be a blessing - the house was nice and quiet! We also had the opportunity to talk, play games and speak with the other guests, something which wouldn't have happened if the... More

Parking was nice and easy, plenty of space and we could park the car straight outside below our window every day. The welcome and general hospitality was possibly the best we have ever experienced at a B&B/hotel. A genuine interest is shown in guests and their needs. Most of the rooms do boast a wonderful lakeside view - yes OK... More

I had a single room en suite - not large but not small either - quite adequate - as was the shower room. Trees obscure much of the lake in any case - if this is important to you check when booking. Angela was extremely helpful and made me feel welcome in what is an old but comfortable "small hotel"..... More
