Stopped here with a large group of friends and numerous kids and we all agreed it was first class. The rooms are all clean and spacious , could do with the ability to turn down the heating but this was a very minor issue. This small hostel is hidden away from the main street and has a very cosy set up. The owners and staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. A wonderful hostel, run by lovely people in a fantastic location. We usually stay in YHA however much prefered this hostel and will most definitely return. The double bunk room in the annexe was great, the facilties in the main house cosy and welcoming and the breakfast delicious.Perfect location for walking.Very clean and cosy. We had a lovely stay at Thorney How; fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff and reasonable prices. Thought the hostel was pretty good and was borderline in giving it a 4* rating. On the plus side it has been given a lick of paint and looks welcoming and does everything you expect a hostel to do. i enjoyed my stay here, friendly welcome, very clean and nice breakfast, snacks available anytime, homemade flapjacks etc. Very good rates for a stay in the Lake District and nice surrounding area to explore. Hot showers and nice room. Recommend a stay here. More
