Ferndale lodge has always been our favourite place to stay in the Lakes, and we have spent many happy weekends there. Rob is very welcoming and the rooms are always clean and well kept. Breakfast is always delicious - bacon and egg muffins are sooo good and the sausages are a favourite with my other half. We will be back... More

What a great place to stay. Clean spacious rooms with nice view, good freshly cooked breakfasts, pleasant hosts, private parking, very short walk to town centre and all at a great value price. Two guests moaned about the time it took for cooked breakfast to arrive (to us, not to the hosts, of course!). It took perhaps 5 - 10... More

We have just returned from a four night stay and couldn't fault Ferndale Lodge in any way. Rob is welcoming, the place is friendly ,very comfortable rooms and a great choice at breakfast. Our room overlooked the back of the b&b and was perfectly adequate and cosy..Overall great value for money. It speaks volumes as regulars book year after year. Perfect... More

We stayed at Ferndale Lodge for 2 nights recently and will definitely be back. We had a room at the top of the house with amazing views. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy and we had great sleeps. Rob and June are very helpful and friendly and we look forward to staying there again soon. Thank... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. Was put in the 'bungalow' at the back of the property. Not very clean, poor shower with hardly any power. The basin was cracked and had a hole in so not able to fill with water. Would have expected the 'bungalow' to have been priced lower than the main hotel. The hotel looked OK when... More

I have stayed at the Ferndale lodge on a number of occasions over the past few years, so they must be doing something right as we keep coming back to it! The B&B has undergone some updating recently, with the room I was staying in this summer having been nicely decorated with a new flat screen television and a very... More

We spent four nights here in June and Rob has yet again managed to look after us well. We wanted to take the mountain bikes with us this time and Rob true to form accommodated us by clearing out his shed to squeeze them in !! This us a lovely B&B , close to Ambleside town centre and to a... More

Really friendly welcome after a day's cycling, and a secure place to store the bikes. Our room had been recently decorated with an attractive decor and the en-suite shower had a good flow of hot water - just what we needed. At breakfast there was a wide choice of cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts and a good selection of cooked... More

Stayed here for 2 nights (Fri & Sat) in a single room, to attend a family wedding nearby. On the downside, the room was very small and as located on the first floor at the front of the property, I experienced a lot of noise from the main road until around 02.30 a.m when things did quieten down a bit....
