I up graded from the bunk house not because I am a princess but the beds didn't look long enough for me, it was no Hilton but I had a really good stay. Breakfast was spot on, for the evening meal I had steak and ale pie. Twoz beautiful. As for the landlord Roy, well what can I say "... More

Visited Easter weekend and found a beautiful location with friendly and efficient staff. This is a traditional pub and a fantastic end to a walk or trip.Food was lovely and beer was great. all staff were very welcoming especially Annie who could not do enough for us. Will definately be returning for another meal. Thanks

We spent one night at the Kirkstone pass inn over the Easter weekend. The inn is located in the most beautiful setting, the snow topped hillside and isolated location just added to the tranquility. The bar area is very traditional, like taking a step back in time, with open fires and low beamed ceilings. We found the staff to be... More

Drove past if loads in the past but this time was compelled to go in. Ale was absolutely brilliant as was the hostess she was ever so polite and well spoken. Place has so much character and atmosphere it's had not to love it.

Visited here for lunch on a cold snowy February lunchtime. This place has so much potential and its such a shame....log fire was barely burning. The bar should be cosy and welcoming...the fact that the landlord? was wearing his coat meant it was very cold inside! Weird plastic ivy hanging from the lovely original beams...what's that all about? Sat near... More

We stayed here for lunch on an MG car run. They coped well with an influx of 20 people at once, the food was very good. I would recommend this pub for its warmth and welcome, it really made our day. Luckily the weather was gorgeous and the views stunning.

After a freezing walk up Red screes the inn was warm and welcoming with friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Walked in almost penniless and ordered a mountain of tap water. The staff remained incredibly friendly and talkative and the fire was lovely. We will definitely return to stay or for a meal.

Our stay began with false information when we were told rooms were already booked up and that others were staying at this remote Inn so we decided to go ahead and book a room. We arrived at around 5.30 and were shown to our room which was freezing, radiators were duly switched on but would take a while to make... More

Myself & my wife popped in here for lunch on the way from Ulswater to Troutbeck where we were staying. The clouds were enveloping the place on our arrival it's so high up. Lovely warm welcome & an even warmer real fire to sit by. Ordered simply filled baguettes & a beer. Very nice. They do B&B at £75 per... More
