We recently stayed here for a couple of nights with our dog. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The room was spotlessly clean with a massive comfy bed. Breakfast was great. We woud highly recommend this B&B, especially for dog owners! More

After our recent stay at Brantfell House we feel we have been to stay with old friends (and I don't mean the "old" literally!!) rather than staying at a B&B for the first time. Chris and Jane have gone out of their way to make us feel so welcome and spoilt and they really take time out of their busy... More

Stayed for three nights over a weekend period. B&B full but owners very relaxed and friendly. Room spacious and clean, Chris and Jane couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Breakfast great, best we've had at a b&b, well worth going for this! Even our dog got a sausage cooked for his breakfast! Ambleside lovely and plenty of walks... More

An enjoyable 3night stay. located in the Town and 5mins walk to shops, pubs etc. Very nice accommodation (we had a suite) with a great choice of breakfast. Also free car parking was very handy. handy for the buses and 15mins walk to the Windermere ferry service. More

A really homely B&B, the owners were really friendly and welcoming. Recently refumished the whole B&B was modern and comfortable. The room was spacious and clean with a really comfortable bed. The breakfast was fantastic and we would recommend the Brantfell just for this alone. All freshly cooked to order your options are endless and you can have as much... More

The owner's Jane and Chris are a very nice couple, the room was very comfortable and clean with a nice modern en-suite. As everyone mentions the breakfast is wonderful and all cooked to order, it certainly does keep you going all day. This is a lovely place to stay and although we usually try to go to a different place... More

It was a real pleasure to be back at Brantfell again, and Jane and Chris were as welcoming and hospitable as ever. We had a different but equally nice and well appointed room and the breakfast was of course fantastic (still the best ever Chris!) - we had no need for (or rather room for) lunch! One evening we had... More

Really friendly well-run establishment. Personal service and nothing too much trouble for Jane and Chris. Breakfast prepared to order with incredible choice. Rooms clean and well equipped. Free car parking at rear which makes such a difference in Ambleside. As a single traveller I felt really welcome with a lovely room, unlike so many other B&Bs that charge stupid supplements... More

Stayed at Brantfell recently and can only echo the reviews of others in that the attention to detail and standard of the guesthouse is excellent. Breakfast was very good - far too much for me - and the rooms are cleaned to perfection. There is some traffic noise at the front of the house, but not through the night, and... More

I brought my mum and dad on holiday during the Royal wedding weekend which was fun- it was mums birthday, and Chris, Jane and all the staff made it extra special- mum said it was the best birthday present she ever had. We have stayed at Brantfell before and we will keep returning. The welcome is very warm and nothing... More
