Perfect location amidst mountains with footpaths in all directions. Car parking was tricky when small car park full. Not entirely sure what made our “Superior Room” superior as didn't look into any “Standard" rooms but was adequate, spacious and quiet, simply furnished, smallish TV, no real “luxuries” and no bath, just a large (nice hot) shower. We had a delicious soup and sausage sandwich at The New Dungeon Ghyll a couple of weeks ago. The staff were very friendly and the prices reasonable. We will definitely plan a return visit. More

The location of the New Dungeon Ghyll is idyllic. The captive occupancy of walkers and climbers could expect an average experience but thats far from the case. Just returned from an overnight stay at this hotel. This hotel is in a great position for exploring the many walks and climbs in the beautiful Langdale Valley. Stayed here and found it clean and a great place to stay. the area is beautiful with fantastic views no matter which way you look. Nice pubs and lots of walkers. Great place for hikers. More

Very comfortable and efficient hotel. Bedroom clean and well heated, staff friendly and helpful. One thing that the management must look at is the bar is mopped out early in the morning and the smell of disinfectant pervades the ground floor of the hotel and into the restaurant which rather spoils the otherwise tasty breakfast More
