Yes, it is all true, this is a really lovely hotel in a fantastic setting at the top of Windermere. It really does live up to all the excellent reviews it gets on TA and you certainly won't be disappointed. Hope to be back soon.

The hotel is in an excellent location with stunning views looking directly out over the lake. Ideally located within a 10 minute walk of Ambleside centre. A great location, just a 15 mins walk into Ambleside where there are restaurants and pubs. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms clean with complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Love the gingerbread biscuits. Lovely sunsets and view over Lake Windermere

This was our 2nd stay at the waterhead and once again we had a fantastic stay. The hotel staff are friendly and efficient. The rooms are very clean and the beds are lush. We ate several times in the restaurant and the food is amazing, presentation the lot. I could not fault out stay.
