Room was very large with a huge bathroom. Plenty of space, spotless and bright. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Positives:
Great central location.
Presentable, clean (basic) room.
Decent breakfast.
Negatives:
Car park is far too small. Entrance is very narrow.
Staff were miserable and unhelpful and at times rude. The young girl who 'dealt' with our check-in had a real attitude.
The pub seemed rowdy and unwelcoming - the only bar in Ambleside that had a bouncer on the...

When asked who he was I was told he was the bouncer for the night.

Our second stay here, and just as enjoyable as the 1st.
Yes, car park is tight, but at least it has one! We were on the top floor, so no noise probs for us, and the stairs not too much of a prob for a 50+ year old couple.
Good beers in the bar below, had a couple while I...

We stayed here for a 2 night break in October 2011. When we arrived we got a parking space quite easily, although access was via a narrow steep slope right at the side of the property. This proved a problem when we came back mid afternoon the next day to find the car park was full. It is not possible...

We booked via the internet for 3 nights and were very pleased. The location is great - right in the centre of Ambleside so all shops, pubs and restaurants are within a 5/10 min walk. Yes, the car park is a bit of a squeeze but if everyone parks within the designated spaces, there are no problems ... at least...

We booked on the internet and when we arrived the Inn was not at all what we had expected. It is basically a roughish pub with rooms above. Access to the free parking was so narrow we had to put our wing mirrors in and drive very carefully between the buildings. In the car park itself, contrary to the picture...
