The County Hotel is very poorly occupied due to its worn out rooms and tatty decor coupled with appalling food. They seem to supplement their income by plundering guests credit cards. Any excuse to charge your account is used often without even notifying you. If you ring and reserve and later cancel your credit card will be charged £45.

Avoid this place. We had to change rooms twice: once because they got the booking wrong, and then again because the bed broke when one of the children sat on it. I will start with the positive, the staff are wonderful, caring people. Unfortunately, they are working at a hotel that comes from the Twighlight Zone. It is old, worn, and run down. Stayed here for the second time as i came home for the weekend, they checked me in earlier than their check in time. Very nice stay as usuall with really friendly staff and a nice indoor pool which i used. I would stay here again when i come down Many thanks
