We recently stayed at the Sandown in Dover and found it very good. The room was clean and of a suitable size and Sonia, the owner, was really helpful. Sonia arranged everything we needed for our baby daughter, from travel cot, to baby bath and highchair. Breakfast was really good and it's only a short walk to both the station... More

On our trip from Switzerland to the Isle of Man we arrived in Dover in the evening. Since we didn't know how far we could travel in one day, we looked for accommodation wherever we were in the evening. But we didn't expect, that it would be so difficult to find a place to stay over night with a dog... More

Very easy to book by email. Comfortable and well decorated. Lovely big shower in the ensuite. Very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very well cooked and sets you up for the day. Will definately return if we find ourselves in the area again.

Sonia and Martin are very helpfull. "Go to this restaurant or if you like fish, then take the other!" I never thought, that Dover could be as nice. With old Jazz - free of charge. And one of the best dinner in England. And one of the best B&B we enjoied. Easy to find. Pass the railway station and it... More

Of all the B&B's we have stayed in in the UK, Sandown Guest House has been by far the best for friendliness, helpfulness, exceptional food, service and accommodation. Martin and Sonia went more than the extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfasts were especially memorable! Ron and Laurainne Williams, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

I just returned from my UK trip and I had the pleasure of staying three nights at the Sandown Guest House. Before I booked it, I read all the reviews and since I couldn't find anything negative about this B & B, I booked it. I can only confirm what has been written before. My room was cozy, new and... I have just returned from a fantastic two-night stay at this guest house and can not recommend it enough. It was lovely to stay somewhere where the hosts really look after their guests. I booked easily via email and was given a great rate for single occupancy in a double room - which was very much appreciated as us solo... More

This is everything you want in a guest house. Friendly, helpful owners; off-road parking; a warm, clean and comfortable room; soft towels, plenty of hot water; and a huge breakfast with cereals, toast and FULL English if you want it. They even had a selection of fruit teas. The place is very well kept, the room we stayed in was... More

The Sandown Guest House was just what I needed after a frankly horrific morning in Calais. Martin and Sonia were very welcoming and most gracious as hosts, and the room was so splendid I ended up spending an extra night in Dover. That's right, an extra night in Dover. Because of the room. I wholeheartedly recommend the Sandown to everyone... More
