Lovely friendly place to stay in a perfect position to visit Canterbury. We had two rooms in the Stables which were so comfortable and clean with lovely bathrooms! The honesty bar was such a great idea and we used it well !! The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and tasty. The staff were very helpful, we left an... More

Canterbury is a lovely city to spend a couple of days in and the House of Agnes is the place to stay. Sandy, the owner and most gracious host, went well out of her busy schedule and assisted me with some issues. The room (Canterbury) is just perfect for visualizing living in Medieval times with hand cut wooden beams and... More

We had a room in the stable block. It suited us very well. The room was very modern, spacious and clean with excellent en suite facilities. It was very quiet and we were undisturbed. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job and were very discreet. We never saw them but we knew they had been. Every attention is made for... More

Smashing place - no surprise that this is the no.1 B&B in Canterbury. Nothing is too much trouble for Sandie and her team and the complex is an appealing mix of old and new. The honesty bar is a lovely addition and our room (Venice) was super. The place is clean from top to bottom, the gardens well maintained and... More

A warm welcome is provided at the entrance. This was the perfect way to enjoy this BB. Rooms are cosy and well equipped. The locations is great not that far from historical part of the city. This was our first stay in this beautiful city and the recommendations of the lady from the front desk were perfect. Thank you for... More

Lovely warm welcome and eager to please staff. We stayed in the Paris room which is small, but good use made of the space. Bathroom was almost as big as the room itself with a great freestanding bath. No issue with noise despite this room being at the front of the house. Breakfast service was slow due to seven couples... Lovely place but to near the train lines. No food other than breakfast which was perfect. We were in the stable block outside parking was quite tight. Nicely situated in Canterbury a very pleasant place for walking and close to many attractions .

I am sorry that the reviewer was not terribly enthusiastic about his stay with us. The House of Agnes is a Bed and Breakfast therefore we do not provide other meals, but ithin a minute's walk there is an abundance of reasonably priced, high quality restaurants, café's and bars. We are in a City Centre which offers efficient, plentiful public... More

We stayed in a stable room, wich was very nice and quiet. I'm a very light sleeper and even with open windows,we did not hear any noise from the nearby trainstation. (and for those who can hear any noise;there are earplugs provided) I really loved the decoration of the interior and Sandie's eye for detail! Philippe Starck-chairs mixed with older... More

Arrived Sunday lunch time to a very warm welcome. Parked the car ( Free! ) in their spacious and lovely garden. The house in just outside to out town by the wonderful west gates. We shown around the hotel and all the facilities and given access to our rooms very early. Everything was very friendly and beautifully clean. This is... More

Stayed here with our American friends who were visiting us for three weeks. So pleased I chose this hotel and they loved it. Sandie and her team are so welcoming and you can feel the history of the place. We stayed in the Venice room and loved its quirkiness (the bathroom was in the bedroom, but the loo was separate)...
