Had a wonderful lunch from the fixed menu. Cauliflower soup with alomonds followed by a sumptious slow cooked beef. My wife had a great risotto. Food cooked to perfection in a lovely setting and the service was also excellent. There's also a beautiful open fire to sit and enjoy a coffee. More

My husband and I first stayed at Wesley House Easter weekend 2010. My husband had what he referred to as the best meal of his life and so we returned for new years eve this year. Plush, beautifully lit, warm and inviting 16th century building right in the heart of winchcombe, possibly my favourite town in England! You have to... More

We stayed here in December and the christmas decorations were fabulous,we stayed in the almsbury room with the terrace, unfortunately we couldnt see the castle. The food was fabulous no complaints at all, the room was small but it is an old building full of character, if you want a large plush room and bathroom go and stay in a... More

As with other reviewers, we stayed in the 'Sketchley' room, to which the answer is - don't. In this day and age, this shouldn't be allowed.Small and almost claustrophobic, with a shower using one of those useless instant electric water heaters, it was a place to leave as soon as feasible. Dinner was pleasantly done, though quality was more at... More

We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay at Wesley House. We would like to offer you some recompense if you would like to get in touch with us. We are a 15th Century building and are limited to the size of our bedrooms, and although small in size we hope guests find them characterful. Having... More

We were asked this question a few times during our recent stay and the answer to this question is yes. However, we were hoping for a little bit more. On the plus side our room with the terrace allowed a great couple of hours just sitting with a chilled bottle wine taking in the view. The staff were attentive and... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in September 2011. There is no parking but a public car park is only about 200 yards walk after 'dumping' luggage into front door. The Inn has bags of character but its age means that space and layout are not ideal. There is a steep and difficult staircase to the rooms and our room... More

Winchcombe is a fascinating medaeval town and virtually every building on the main streets is several hundred years old. That being the case, you would expect that hotel rooms will be cramped, low-ceilinged, with so-so bathrooms and the top of winding, creaky staircases. That is certainly the case at The Welsey House. So, the room being just adequate, we looked to... More

We've stayed a couple of times within the last six months and I agree with every positive comment by other reviewers. Warmth of welcome, quality of food, those little extra touches etc. However, I'd also agree with the comments on the Setchley Room. First time we stayed in one of the front rooms - quaint and lovely. But the Setchley... More

My boyfriend and I recently visited Wesley House for a 2 night (much needed) break. Only being an hour from home it was close enough so it wasn’t a mission to get there from home but far enough away so we felt that we were getting away. When we arrived we found the hotel easily and parked in the long... More

We stayed at Wesley House while on a hiking holiday in the Cotswolds. The restaurant looked really good, although we did not end up eating there. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. This pretty inn is quite old and as another reviewer pointed out, interesting architecturally. Our room, however, was a huge let-down. It was nicely appointed, but absolutely... More
