If you had a checklist of what you'd expect from a country house hotel in the Cotswolds - flint and granite, crooked chimneys, dry stone walls, cream teas, chintz, Scrabble sets, Whitaker's almanacks, clematis, ancient retainer who does all the real work, Michelin starred restaurant, big fireplaces, coats of arms, mullioned windows... then Lords of The Manor would get ticks... My wife and I stayed at Lords of the Manor for three nights in May. We highly recommend it. The hotel is very much as billed on its website. This is a beautiful old manor house located in Upper Slaughter, one of the most pristine and untouristy little villages in the Cotswolds. We used it as a base for three... More

We had a great stay at this hotel which I agree with previous reviewers are probably best suited to couples. We were here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I think this is a perfect place for a romantic getaway. The rooms are nicely decorated and there are many sitting areas (both inside and outside) where you can have a... More

Stayed for one night over the bank holiday weekend as a last minute booking. Overall we would recommend the hotel, but it's probably better for couples than families. Our room was spacious and had a nice selection of l'Occitane smellies in the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable and our son was accommodated in a sofa bed in a mezzanine part... More

Where can I start? I can not speak highly enough about this hotel! We had a much needed over night stay and took advantage of the winter zest deal. From arrival we loved it - the setting is beautiful, we were upgraded on check in without asking. The rooms are well equipped with iPod/phone docking station tv etc. We had... More

From the moment when we arrived and Andy took our case to our upgraded room and parked our car, we felt cosseted and special. Lovely room, delightful afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings, exciting canapes before a superb evening meal - it was all special. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Not stuffy at all. The breakfast... More

We booked afternoon tea here on the 5th April to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The welcome, service and food were outstanding. A lovely afternoon sat in a beautiful room overlooking the garden was a joy. Well done Lords of The Manor. More

My husband and stayed one night at the Lords of the Manor hotel. What a stunning location, really lovely place with beautiful gardens. The staff are delightful and so helpful. Other than our trips to Dubai no other hotels' staff come close to the staff at Lords of the Manor. We had a Travelzoo voucher for DB&B which was excellent... More

We stayed for three nights at this very special place in the Cotswolds. When we arrived we were offered an upgraded room at no extra charge, perfect. We had booked an inclusive package of dinner, cream tea,an attraction ticket and breakfast Friday to Mon. Every aspect was excellent from the room, the staff attention, to the food which was fully deserving... More
