As local residents we took friends from Doha who previously lived in Minchinhampton for an evening meal. The food was very average and not up to our previous experience. When one of our guests Roast Pork meal arrived he asked for some apple sauce the waitress informed him it was on the meat, after trying the pork it was obvious... More

I'm a local resident so I really want The Old Lodge to do better, but it just never seems to meet my expectations. Yesterday, on Sunday 20th May, I took a couple of friends to the Lodge for a few drinks and a bite to eat. The service was awful (at one point I stood waiting at the bar whilst... More

It's always difficult going out on a Sunday night. Most pubs don't do food in the evenings and the ones that do are always quite empty and you feel a little bit like you're 'in the way'. Not so with our meal at the Lodge last night. We live in the area and hadn't been to the Lodge for a... More

I arranged to have my husbands 40th birthday lunch here and we booked a table for approx 26. We prebooked the food and I want to comment the Old Lodge for making the whole epxerience easy and smooth running. The staff were amazing and effrything was effortless. The food was excellent and served together in a timely manner. Recommended. More

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch. Traditional Sunday lunch is £13.95 with a choice of beef, lamb or pork. My wife chose pork. I had the lobster and crayfish to start at £6.95 followed by a sirloin steak and chips with peppercorn sauce. I am always sceptical about ordering sunday lunches as I never think that they are... We have been to the Old Lodge several times, it is in a lovely setting up on the common. Terrific value through Late Rooms we usually pay £50-60. Very good food in the restaurant at reasonable prices, nice bar and garden. More

Stayed in room 1 - a "Superior" double. Nothing superior about it. Only 4 out of 8 lights working. Shower broken so only dispensing scalding hot water. Radiator valves not working so small electric heater provided. Uncomfotable bed that sank to the depths in the middle. Bathrrom lighting really poor. Bathroom fan required on-off switching from the bathroom isolator outside!... More

This is one of my favourite local eating places. Wonderful lunch snacks of crayfish tails in lime and coriander sauce, delicious evening meals, beautifully cooked plaice and chips, Big juicy hamburgers too. On top of the common so stunning views, no matter what time of year. Child friendly. More

Stayed for one night and it was fabelous, everything was clean welcome nice and relaxed big fire burning great place. Breakfast was delicious best scrambled eggs I havehad for years. Staff charming and informative, I will definately go back great value for money. Only 1 suggestion - a larger shelf in the backroom nowhere to put pots of cream safely... More
