We stayed 2 nights in the art deco room. It was very small - especially the bathroom (which was also a bit smelly!) Everything was clean and we had all we needed. The fridge in the hallway came in handy for drinks as did the range of books and maps for visitors to borrow. The breakfast was ok, but unless... More

We passed through Painswick on our way to the Mercury hotel. Planning to have Puppy Dogs Pie in the Royal Oak Inn, but it was VERY closed. We were ALL Very hungry and saw this restaurant just round the corner, didn't realise it was also a B&B, may stay there next time. The food was delicious and the service was... More

St Micheal's is just what I expected of a quaint Cotswold B&B. We had the Indian Room overlooking the spectacular view of the church and, having read other reviews, I was a little concerned that it would be noisy so I went armed with ear plugs. This really was not the case. The church bells are more of a tinkle... More

We stayed for one night towards the end of December. Our room (the Indian Room) was clean and comfortable, with lovely views over the church yard across the road. Noise from the plumbing in the adjacent room was quite bad. Although the food in the restaurant downstairs was both plentifull and cheap, we found the quality to be quite poor... More

We spent three nights at St Michaels and had a wonderful time. Our room, the Art Deco room, was tastefully decorated and very comfortable, with a wonderful thick duvet and nice linens. The bathroom it should be noted is quite small, but comes stocked with a good shower and a nice selection of toiletries. The room has a terrific tea... More

Friendly, old world accommodation. But the the first room we stayed in (Indian room) was very noisy with people walking around upstairs. We moved to Rococco room, while small was quiet. The breakfast was excellent. More

We stayed in the Indian room. Other reviews have commented on disturbed sleep due to the dog, church bells, and light. During our 3 day stay we only saw the dog once, and if it barked at all then that was far from us - it certainly doesn't have the run of the house. You can hear the church bells... More

We stayed in the Indian room - well laid out and comfortable bed - good shower products etc - nice touches with home made biscuits, fresh fruit, proper coffee and leaf tea. B & B in a lovely location and we overlooked the church yard with the 99 yew trees. Breakfast very good - we were the only guests staying... More

My partner and I stayed at St Michaels in the Rococo room from the 2nd-4th September. We arrived to a very warm welcome from Matt and Magda and were showed to our room, which was beautiful, very clean, spacious and with a romantic feel to it. The fresh fruit and homemade biscuits were a lovely touch. Breakfast in the morning was... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely B&B. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was excellent. We stayed in the Art Deco room, which I would describe as bijou especially the bathroom. That said it was very comfortable. A lovely bed, a plush mattress and bedding. Nice tea tray with cornish leaf tea and homemade biscuits. The... More
