I recently stay there for three nights, and I couldn't find fault with the hotel. The staff were friendly and chatty, the rooms were elegant and clean, the food was varied and well portioned, even the locals seemed welcoming. Afternoon walks in the idyllic counstable country, followed by some good food, then a few pints before bedtime, what more could... More

Apart from a drape over the bed to give the impression of a four poster this was a £30 per night contractors digs room, we paid £90 room only, dreadful value. We also, foolishly, met friends there for lunch on the Sunday, canteen food at restauraunt prices. The only veggie option was vegetable sausage loaf which came with beef gravy.... More

“Nice place but paying a premium to be in Dedham”

A nice warm welcome, and good character pub right in the centre of Dedham. We booked the 4 poster room, which was fine (albeit it had only had a cursory vacuum), but the bathroom was pokey and basic (although of course there are limitations on what can be done with such an old property). £100 room only isn't good value... More
