The Apothecary was not our first choice but we booked late and it was the only place available. I read the reviews and was prepared for it to be a little tatty, which it was, but the owner was lovely, very welcoming and helpful in advising us of places to eat etc. The first thing my husband asked when we... more

We stayed in the Eves Room at the top of a narrow flight of stairs. Being an attic room, the ceiling sloped which didn't present any problems. The room size was on the cosy side but clean, quiet and comfortable with views over the rooftops of other buildings. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided. A continental breakfast consisting of... more

Charming B&B on first floor above coffee shop. Nice, shabby-chic room with four-poster bed. Welcoming hostess. Excellent breakfast in coffee shop. Charming town. Rye Harbour and Nature Reserve just outside town. more

This is a lovely B&B. We stayed in the four poster room. It was a bit small but sweet. Well equipped, it had everything you would need--cabinet space, clean bathrooms, fridge, silverware. Breakfast was copious and fresh and the coffee was great. Service was very friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable--a great value. more

The Apothecary is second to none in my mind, for a short break from the metropolis and a truly relaxing stay. I'd suggest the reviewer who took his wife there for her birthday was expecting an awful lot for his money as it is an utter bargain at £75 per night. The room has character and what my partner and... more

I booked the merrythought room for a trip away with my wife for our wedding anniversary,I had read some reviews, and all were very good,so i was expecting something special, unfortunately i was very dissapointed, when we entered the room the first thing we noticed was the filthy carpet,it looked like somebody had walked round with muddy boots on,the interior was shabby and... more

We stayed in the Merrythought Room which is down a cobbled footpath by the church, a few minutes walk from the Apothecary Coffee Shop. It is an ensuite room with its own front door and although the room is small, the personal touches-tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, wine glasses, plates and cutlery, dvd player with dvds available from the... more

well what can i say! You do have to park 5 mins away but it costs £1 for 24 hours WHAT A BARGAIN! .The Apothecary is absolutely charming. There are two en suite rooms, we were in the Eves, which is at the back of the building. The room does have a steep staircase to it, but once in side... more

My boyfriend surprised me with a night away from London for my birthday. He chose Rye as he knows I love wandering around pretty towns and the Apothecary B&B which was perfect for one night. We were staying in the Apothecary Suite and, whilst it is not a boutique hotel, the room was superb value for money with a comfortable... more
