Stayed for two nights early December. Delightful old pub done up but without any of the usual cliched add-ons. Very laid back atmosphere, great low volume mood music with staff fully attentive to needs. Rooms basic but clean and comfy. Great location in this super little town. booked a couple of nights but only stayed for one. The top room was a bit chilly, basic with a hard bed, The bath was chipped and furnishings well worn. Lovely breakfast but all in all not worth £100 per night. More

The Ship Inn has a great personality from decor to staff. The shabby-chic character adds to the completely relaxing atmosphere. The service, menu, food and bar are hard to fault. A great place to stay, with comfortable beds, excellent bed linen and a powerful shower. Delicious home made granola and excellent toast for breakfast. Quirky art for sale on the walls in the pub and an inviting food menu. Central location in Rye on edge of old part of the town. We will be back. More
