When we arrived we were slightly horrified with the state of the place - it certainly was not very clean - we were taken up to our room 'Boudicia' it had three beds in it and our impression was that at least the bedroom was clean and the beds were fresh sheets and lovely coloured towels. When I came to... More

I stayed five nights at the Queen's Head Inn April, 2012, and it was absolutely wonderful. I loved the staff and hated to leave!! It has authentic seventeenth century ambiance, unique charm, and the friendliest people in the world. If you want something upscale and modern this isn't your cup of tea; but if you want a lovely, cosy, perfectly... More

As a pub, its fine! As a B&B it operates fine, you can sleep and they offer a full English breakfast! BUT they need to update things! They need to redecorate! They need to offer more! We stayed in the Mathilda room. Our window over looked the fire exit balcony and not much more, the window was smashed and letting... More

I couldn't disagree more with previous reviews! My husband and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary there (from when we met) and we will be going back again. We couldn’t have felt more welcomed - and yes, I have travelled the globe and stayed in all sorts of hotels from -* to 5*+. The staff were so very helpful; emailed me... More

I also stayed at the Queens Head because I couldn't get a booking elsewhere. In forty years of travelling for business and pleasure I can honestly say it is the worst place I have ever stayed in. I slept in the Elizabeth room - it was appalling. The four poster, and all the other furniture is painted in an amateur... More

Booked the room on room bookers as it was last minute and there was not much available. when we arrived we were shocked, At the bar were sat 2 scruffy men in filthy pyjama bottoms and slippers. We were led past them, up some rickety stairs with the filthiest carpets I have ever seen, into the 'Elizabethan' room. The room... More

Can't agree more with the review by Ashley40. In the words of Meat Loaf - 'You took the words right out of my mouth!' We were touring Kent and booked here because other places in Rye were fully booked. Greeted by an affable but scruffy manager (?) wearing a stained T shirt and no shoes or socks. Stayed in the... This is a lovely pub with very sweet bedrooms. We arrived quite late, so had rang ahead to order some dinner. It was ready about 10 minutes after we arrived and was a good fish and chips. There menu is your usual pub food. Staff and the few customers were interesting characters... They have a good range of games and... More

Booked here because lodging in Rye was fully booked. Big Mistake! The carpets and decor are the filthiest i have encountered. The rear entrance to the rooms via access up stairs was a health and safety issue. The wooden stairs outside were rotton through and i nearly fell through ( I am not overweight!). The breakfast was ok, but the... More

An excellent pub, traditional and friendly. The proprietors lay on an excellent range of real ale, and the kitchens provide very tasty and filling food, including at least two different vegetarian options. The music was also excellent - the space is a little small for louder bands, but the jazz trio who were there when we visited sounded excellent. Some... More
