Really liked this place and its location in old Rye, overlooking the sea. Only downer was that our shower did not work. AT ALL. Second time we have stayed at the Hope Anchor in Rye. The service at the hotel is excellent, as is the food. Hard to fault our stay with friends. Great value for your money. The location is excellent. The cobblestone & small streets are quaint & memorable...though, in Rye, the cobblestones are more like just slippery stones. :-) Quite unique. Very comfortable stay-good view from our room. Bathroom well stocked with goodies. Food in the restaurant was lovely with plenty to choose from for carnivores and vegetarians. Typical small hotel - old fashioned furnishings throughout and the room a bit cramped. Quiet, genteel whispery atmosphere in the dining room though the food was very good.
