The greeting by Paul was warm and welcoming! Despite changing our booking we were actually upgraded to a superior room - tea, coffee, sofa, flat screen tv and bed big enough for 6!! Breakfast was very good and cooked to order. Good information on area i.e pubs, clubs, shopping etc given by Paul which was helpful as we were only... more

We have stayed in many hotels in Brighton and I have to say, after our visit to the Kelvin, I will not be staying anywhere else! The service provided was one that you would expect to find in a top hotel in London. The hosts, Paul and Shaun were helpful, accommodating and willing to bend over backwards to make our... more

I would not stay here again the service was rushed and we were not made to feel welcome, the so called `superior`bedroom was cramped and drab and on the top floor and the full english breakfast came out on a plate no bigger than a postage stamp. Also worth noting that Sunday departure time is quite early and they are strict... more

Brighton was the best leg of our trip and staying at the Kelvin Guest House made it even better. Shaun was extremely hospitable and gave awesome dining recommendations around town. The english breakfast was stellar. Sadly we only ate breakfast one day since we are night owls. The location is perfect, only a few yards from the pier. The rooms... more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Four main reasons why: 1) The room was lovely, bed was comfy, the en-suite was new and very clean. 2) Close to everything, the seafront at the end of the road with the Pier, and even if you dont feel like walking to the station its was less than a... more

My experience at the Kelvin was not just unpleasant, it was upsetting, because I was treated rudely by one of the owners. You know that feeling when somebody thinks you are not "as good as you ought to", but they still want to have the benefit of your custom? I felt belittled and after one dire night, I was ready... more

I went with friends to Brighton for the weekend and we stayed in the Kelvin and Boyden, (owned by the same people). We had a clean room, beautiful breakfast and a lovely welcome. Some of the girls had stayed before and we were all treated like family. If you need to know anything they are more than happy to help.... more

Have just come back from two nights at the Kelvin, and couldn't fault any of it! We had a triple room, which was airy and very comfortable and with three single beds which suited us. ( Generally in a triple room one finds a double and a single bed) The breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked and lots of choice. The... more

Received a friendly and relaxed welcome from Paul, who took time to describe the area for us. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well-decorated. Location was ideal for town centre, beach and pier attractions. Courteous service throughout, with a tasty, well-cooked breakfast ! more

A small group of us came down to Brighton for a weekend away to celebrate a mate's birthday. We found the Kelvin on the web and liked the look of the place, so booked. We were not at all disappointed, we had a great weekend. The location is ideal, just off the seafront, so although it is close to nightlife,... more
