We booked The Lanes for a hen do for 12 girls in 3 rooms and we would like to pass on the biggest thanks to the team at the hotel. They were fantastic. Upon arrival one of our party mentioned to the Receptionist that we planned for a picnic on the beach but the weather had put a stop to... More

good hotel, clean and tidy if a little dated. staff very friendly and helpful. breakfast very good.we had a four poster room with small balcony, it was fairly spacious and warm but not enough wardrobe space. our only real complaint was that smoking was allowed in the rooms and the smell permiated into our room and into the corridoors. we... The Lanes Hotel was our base for a quiet hen weekend. It's a Victorian house on the seafront about 10 minutes walk from the pier. Good points: 1. very clean rooms, quiet, comfy bed, and there's a nice big lounge on the ground floor. The beauty therapist claimed that the building used to belong to Ivor Novello and Noel Coward,... More

I visted this hotel with my friend and was impressed with the freindly nature of the staff as well as the room and bathroom being clean. It is very sitaued opposite the beach and 10 minute walk to the Lanes. Both my self and my friend had a facial and swedish massage from Matt and this was a very relaxing... More

I booked this hotel on line and unseen because It was close to the Lanes and the central areas. When we pulled up outside we almost did a 'drive by'. The building is a Victorian, red brick building which looks tired. We decided to go in anyway and check out our room and if we didn't like it we would... More

I visited this hotel with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and helpful and the beds and bathrooms were clean. However, that’s where the positives end. The reception staff may well have been welcoming and helpful, but visually the reception was anything but. My first impressions were driven by the... More

This is a terrible hotel, like something from the dark ages. It wreaked of cigarette smoke the minute you entered reception. This was confirmed when returning from a dinner to find the owner holding court smoking in a thick fog. Disgusting. And I think there must have been a bet on to see just how many colours and patterns and... More

It`s all been said about the hotel, staff really helpful, receptionist leant me £2 as I did`nt have enough change for the extortionist parking charges that Brighton requires,I think the Council just do`nt want visitors. Our room was at the back with a lovely view of the fire escape, room was clean, warm and quite a decent size for the age of the property,en-suite... More
