Being the oldest hotel in Brighton it can look a little run down but I think that adds to its appeal. Our room was fine with what we expected and the service was very good. It was also really central for our stay in the area.

I had forgotten I had stayed here 2 years ago and had found the hotel to be in desperate need of an overhaul. Sadly nothing much has changed although the location on the seafront is great. Some work seems to have been carried out in the immediate reception area and they were painting in the bar but beyond that the... More

After reading a couple of reviews before our trip to Brighton, I was a bit worried about our stay at the old ship, but needn't have worried. Yes, it's a little tatty in places - it's the oldest hotel in brighton! However, our room was pretty modern, clean and tidy. We were at the back of the hotel, so the... More

We had a travel zoo deal for this hotel, ad was very pleased with it for the money. The location was brilliant, on the seafront with the lanes in very close walking distance. The rooms were a bit outdated and could do with a revamp, however they are working on this. We had dinner in the restaurant and was very... More

Just returned from a two night stay at the Old Ship. We were part of a large party having a family celebration and the staff were really helpful and attentive as we did have a few requests. The breakfasts were good, lots of choice and our children enjoyed getting their own hot chocolates! The rooms were spacious but in need... More

I had a great time during my stay in the Old Ship Hotel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and made me feel very welcome. The room was very clean, spacious and I like the decoration - very relaxing and peaceful feeling. I felt like being at home except that I did not have to do anything, It is allocated... More

Stayed here for 2 nights bed and breakfast. Rooms very spacious and spotlessly clean as were all areas of the hotel. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty of choice was on offer. Everything was nice and fresh. Fruit teas were available as well as other teas. Coffee was nice too. There were 6 choices of... More

My wife and I spent two nights at hotel. One night was TravelZoo special offer, second was direct, and the whole deal was excellent value for money. I wholly agree with others about the staff; not one was less then excellent. Buffet Breakfast was as good as we have ever had (as someone says, the hot food was actually hot!).... More

I stayed here three years ago and it has improved, but apart from reception staff and the young lady who greats you at breakfat, the rest look and sound as if they don't want to be here, I had a premium room with little extras like upgraded toliteries, but I had to ask for them to be replenished, the bed... Thank you for your review. We have 45 sea facing rooms with the rest either facing the side or inner of the hotel. Due to the hotel being up to 450 years old the layout can be quirky but adds to the charm of the building. Our car park is exclusive for hotel guests only and we keep our prices... More
