I stayed here with a group of friends, the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was comfortable and very clean. I would definitely recommend to a friend. More

Stayed in Room 109 for one night - large room with very nice balcony which must be great in the summer. However this room is directly above the reception which made it very noisy and in particular when a late night party had some sort of disturbance. The Hotel also lacks a nice lounge area and the £15 car parking... More

We have just returned from a 'bargain' weekend at the Mercure. The hotel is a great old Regency type building with a wonderful central staircase and chandeliers and passages galore. Just taken over by Mercure (the lady in the tourist office thought it was still the Ramada!) it is in the process of gentle renovation, but who cares about a... More

I booked this place for 2 nights with full knowledge of what I was getting and it delivered the total Brighton experience we were looking for. The hotel is in a beautiful older style building that has so much charm right opposite the seafront. We had a king room for a couple and a standard double for my single mother.... More

Dear GlebeTraveller Thank you for your valued review on your stay with us. I was delighted to read your positive review and your feedback on your hotel experience. A number of our upgraded sea view rooms do have ‘amazing balconies’ which make for a fantastic place to admire the sea vista at any time of the year! I was sorry... More

Stayed here with my daughter last weekend. On arrival, the friendly receptionist gave us a complimentary upgrade to an executive room with sea view. The reception area is well looked after and is in keeping with the age of the hotel, sweeping staircase & chandeliers, a very warm entrance. Our room was spotless and appeared to have been completely refurbished, individual... Dear HertsWrights Wow! What a great review – thank you! Whilst we are not the newest Mercure Hotel – (there was Hotel here in 1827!) we are proud of the heritage of this grand building and I’m pleased that you enjoyed your time with us. Even more encouraging is your feedback regarding the service received which is our highest priority... More

I stayed in this hotel when it was the Ramada and didn't find it very satisfactory. The rooms were very small and tight, the bathrooms in particular. The parking was a nightmare and we ended up having to park in one of the city car parks further away. The place needed a make over and the staff were generally uninterested... More

Dear J L Thank you for your valued review following your stay last year in April 2011. I would like to sincerely apologise that you did not feel that the rooms match your expectations. As you will no doubt appreciate due to the age and layout of the building all the rooms do vary in size and appointment and I’m... More

There was confusion about our booking on arrival. Breakfast was included in our deal but this was disputed by the receptionist until we produced a print out of our booking as proof. Not the ideal start. Our room was clean and comfortable if small, and the bed was comfortable. Clean bathroom. Breakfast was good - plenty of fresh fruit, hot... More

We were impressed with this hotel, as we were upgraded to the penthouse suite on finding our booked room unmade and dirty. While terrible the suite overshadowed that, and we lived in luxury for two nights! However, breakfast was pricy and there are obvious issues with parking but the location is perfect. More
