The room might be advertised as a double and it had a double bed it, But I can get a double bed in my car, bunk beds might have been more appropriate for the size of the room. Over priced, chain hotels offer more space.

Motel Schmotel is a very happy and pleasant place to spend a night or two, It is a Georgian townhouse and as such the rooms are very small but it is apparent that much care has gone into making the space as usable as possible. The rooms are pleasantly scented and were spotless. There was plenty of Fairtrade tea, coffee... More

We stayed at Motel Schmotel for two nights in May for our anniversary break to Brighton. Before I even booked I'd received helpful emails from Paul answering all of my questions. We stayed in room 2 which was as my husband described 'compact and Bijou'! Ideal for our needs. The shower was hot, the bed was comfortable and flowers and... More

We stayed here Monday to Thursday at the end of April/beginning of May. The weather was perfect but I think we would have had a great time anyway - the welcome at Motel Schmotel is everything you could hope for in a seaside B&B. Yes, the rooms are small (it's a Georgian townhouse, so that's a given) but they are... More

My husband and I stayed for one night (following one night in Hotel Pellirocco) on a brief but perfect minimoon. We had room 10 and loved it. As some other reviews have said it is small but it makes no difference as the space is used really well and you have everything you need. We felt the thought and care... More

My wife and I booked Friday and Saturday nights for her birthday, double room (room 4) over looking (from our bed) the peaceful attractive square. Lovely room. Down to earth friendly welcome and good communication by our hosts. It was a really chilled out and pleasant touch to have the choice of breakfast in your room and to have such... More

The lady who greeted us was very friendly, as was the lady who checked us out. They were very helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious and was bought to me and my boyfriend in bed! What more can you ask for.

Everything was fantastic. The room although small had everything you could possibly want and was tastefully decorated. The breakfast was amazing and a luxury being able to eat it in bed. The hosts were delightful and really helpful. Couldn't have asked for anything more in a B & B. Would stay again for sure.

Stayed for 2 nights to play tourist/shop. Got a last minute bargain price for room 3(small double). The room is defanatly very small, but that is the only down side, compared to a long list of positives! Amazing breakfast served in bed. Really friendly and helpful owners, recomended a great thai place for dinner(giggling squid), and a good pub round... More

I stayed in room 10 on the lower ground floor. I received a very warm welcome and was told everything I needed to know and advised I could have breakfast in my room for no extra cost. Yay! On first inspection the room was of a very good size, nicely decorated and with a roll top bath. Unfortunately the bath... More
