Recently refurbished in most areas of the hotel. However my double bedroom was the smallest I have every encountered and the bathroom was even smaller, so small in fact there was a tiny 'cloakroom' washbasin! Luckily my husband and I only stopped three nights as the bedroom wasn't big enough for the two of us. The double bed was below... More

Very limited parking. no iron in room, phone didn't work, mattress completely gone, floor boards creaky, very basic bathroom. Staff OK. Breakfast was ok. The sort of place you would only stay on a stag or hen. Very basic.

we arrived about 40 minutes early for check in and we were told to come back at two with out the offer to stay in the restaurant or lounge. The bed was made in two parts which were of uneven height. The bathroom door had no lock and would open without human intervention. floorboards creaked all over the building. if... More

Stayed for 2 nights for a birthday weekend. Had a room on the first floor which was nicely decorated and clean with a large bathroom. The bed wasn't that comfortable as the mattress was a bit saggy. The swimming pool was very small but clean and very quiet. The saunas door frame was falling apart but once we managed to... More

The locality of the hotel is some distance from the seafront and town centre but nevertheless has a good location and is easy to find. On arrival we discovered that the car park was full (it remained that way throughout the entirety of our stay) with little on street parking available. It took a while to find anywhere to park.... Strangely enough we had stayed at a Travelodge the previous night for £23 and noted the room there was more spacious than the Room we occupied (131). Hardly any room to move in both the bedroom and bathroom. Breakfast was reasonable although making one's own tea and toast using hot water machines and those toasting conveyor belts is never very... feel free to stay at this hotel if you enjoy being argued with, the old saying the customer is always right is sadly not of any value at this hotel. the request of an iron and ironing board was made before an evening out, the response was more or less a maybe with no clear decision --- 2 hours later... I was pleasantly surprised with the Durley Dean. My room was clean and comfortable and allowed for a good night's sleep. The food served was very good and filling. I only have 2 negatives with the hotel the first in many respects cannot be helped because of the age of the building and that is very squeaky floorboards throughout. Fortunately... More

I have just had a golf weekend at the Durley Dean for 20 people first the good things ideally situated for town centre and the golf courses we played, breakfast was spot on some of the rooms for our party were very nice. Now for some of the bad points because we were a large party some of us had... More

My friend and I stayed in March while the Mexican students were taying and they were delightful, very curtious and polite. Due to this we had to have all meals in the breakfast room, which was soulless, laking any atmosphere. We found the waiting staff to be very helful and very polite. Our room was very nice and spotlessly clean,... More

Thank you so much for your response and great feed back especially about the team here. I am terribly sorry that the outside of your windows were dirty but pleased your room was spotlessly clean. We do have the windows cleaned on a regularly basis but the weather has been so horrendous this year that as soon as they are... More
