Returned from a Cabaret WE at THe Savoy, Bournemouth on 14 May. My wife and I plus a friend, thus a double(221) and single(205). Have read many reviews and find it difficult to relate to the various complaints! Our rooms were good - the single had a lovely sea view and the other was above the main entrance. Yes there... More

We've just come back from a long weekend at this Shearings Hotel. The food was good and plentiful, the staff were very helpful indeed (and nicely turend out) and the hotel, overall, while being a but tired is perfectly acceptable for a long weekend. We wanted to upgrade but all the superior rooms had gone. Not great. Our room was... More

We had a lovely weekend stay in a great location within walking distance of the town ( but there is a steepe hill to get back but you could use the tram from the beach during the day)The staff are very friendly and evening entertainment was fine. Hotel, room and bathrooms are very clean. We stayed in one of the... More

The hotel is in a great location. Room 211 is a superior room with garden view. Great surprise to find it also had a sea view. Very well appointed spacious room with clean en suite and comfortable double bed. Entertainment on Friday and Saturday night was very good. Sadly the food leaves a lot to be desired. Table de hote... just returned from only a couple of nights at the Savoy. Well firstly the weather ordered was delivered !!! The hotel itself if obviously undergoing a makeover, which when finished will make it even more comfortable. Your staff are a credit to you - nothing has been too much trouble. The food was fairly basic, however it was very edible.... More

Food and service excellent, but very disappointed with bedroom, which can only be described as poky. Requested garden room which we were told would be one of the bigger ones, but it was more like a broom cupboard, although the view was very nice. The bedroom next door had a built in wardrobe which enroached into our bedroom, thus taking... More

The Savoy is a grand building full of charm, however like nearly any victorian building rooms sizes can vary. One great advantage of this building is that over 50% of the bedrooms are either on the ground floor or accessible from only having to walk up one flight of stairs. The lift does hold four people comfortably and yes six... More

I can only appolgise on behalf of the hotel for not assisting you with your luggage. Regarding the food, we do have a good value traditional daily menu that is often included in your break however this is also compimented with a very nice A la carte menu that is competitively priced. More
