Visited the Commodore for a week close to Bournemouth to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The Commodore was ideal as it was just outside of Bournemouth and our room had a superb direct seaview. The room was a good size with ensuite bathroom all being clean and tidy. The hotel having a pub as well is pretty busy especially lunchtimes and... More

The hotel is comfortable and a popular place to eat and drink. I think a fair number of those in the bar for food when we arrived at lunchtime were locals – so a good sign. It was a stormy weekend when we stayed and we found the room (Room 1) comfortable and warm. The shower, over the bath, had... More

Stayed 2 nights here in a first floor corner room with nice view of the sea and the little park at the side. Room was very clean and comfortable, nice bedding, bathroom very clean. But the building is very shabby - peeling paint (inside as well as out) - broken window handles, dirty carpet in the dining room, grubby paintwork.... More

Has improved considerably under new management over the past year. The staff are now friendly and helpful, which could not have been said in the past, and they are gradually improving the look and feel. Probably still has one room to go in terms of physical improvement but it does "what it says on the tin" and serves good food... More

Booked this hotel after reading some good reviews and was not disappointed. On arrival I was concerned as I was unable to find any staff in order to check in but any doubts were short lived. Stayed in Room 5 on the second floor, a large corner room which was very clean with crisp white bed linen. Bathroom was equally... More

Disappointing short break at this 'hotel' which is really a 50's style pub with accommodation. No lounge for the residents, other than a bar, which is open to the general public and not very enticing. The saving grace is the food which is really great, well cooked and served and is reasonably priced. The staff are also really helpful and... More

Short business trip so not expecting too much. Room was clean, corridors and bathroom fixtures were a bit old. No blinds in the bathroom but assume they were about to be replaced. Overall good value for money with friendly staff. Bar downstairs lively and food looked popular. More

I live in bournemouth & have visited this pub for lunch on a few occaisions, i've never had any reason to complain, the staff have always been more than helpful & friendly. The food is of very good quality & you get a decent sized portion, i shall carry on being a regular customer here, if only for the food.....because... More
