We stayed here for a couple of nights and thought it was a lovely setting in the Devon countryside, however it stopped at that, the rooms were dirty, and I mean really dirty, in particular the bathroom, my first check, mould and grime, no care at all here. Mentioned to the staff and they seemed unsuprised, we thought while we... More

When heavily discounted (through Travelzoo) this was excellent value for money. It's not at all an average place-rather quirky with a pleasantly amateurish feel to the service. The location is gorgeous and it's very convenient having a cafe, pub ,cinema ,restaurant and shops all within walking distance of this peaceful rural hotel. The grounds are a joy and we really enjoyed... My partner and I have just returned from a weekends stay at Dartington hall. I cannot fault it. Beautiful, romantic setting alongside the river Dart and steam railway with acres of gardens to explore. The buildings are steeped in history and its a great location to see Totnes castle, Buckfast Abbey and walk on Dartmoor. Our ensuite room was lovely... More

The White Hart Bar at Dartington Hall lets the whole place down. It is full of its own setting and rather inflated in its opinion of its self! - We were overlooked and treated like second class citizens because we had not booked and then we were made waite while an extremely busy head waitress or manager organised a table... There is surely no more delightful place than Dartington in spring! Take a walk in the gardens first thing, then return to the White Hart for an excellent breakfast, There are so many places to see nearby - Totnes to explore, or Buckfast Abbey for example - and in the evening back to the peace of Dartington Hall. Staff are... More

This is a wonderful place to stay, there is a pub, restaurant and theatre on sight although the theatre is very cultural. The food is great, the gardens beautiful and the main buildings stunning. The rooms are small but very clean and more than adequate. The beds are very big and comfy. I rang first for availability and price and... More
