I have stayed here a long time ago and what a change different owners make. In a difficult period for everyone who is tightening their belts you still need to escape and be able to relax but hard to find a place for a long weekend that is value for money and a place to take the whole family including... Would definately recommend this hotel. Don't be fooled by the 2 stars, it should be a 3 for the extra facilities that you will find - warm indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, beautician, on site hairdresser, kids room etc. Great bar and restaurant facilities. It was a pleasant stay. I have to admit that I was very dubious as it was... More

We came for a Xmas break, booked 2 rooms 5,6 both very spacious and spotlessy clean. Breakfast was brilliant full English was delicious but had plenty of other dishes to choose from, even pancakes. We've been coming to Devon for years and we've been coming at least 6/7 times a year from now on this hotel will be where we... More

My husband decided to book an apartment for a week at Maxton Lodge for my 60th birthday after being impressed with the photo's on their website. The apartment we'd been given was no.4. The carpets in the hallway of the apartment were stained & filthy and when we went into the lounge the stains were even worse in there. The... More

Having read up on many of the reviews before going, I was really looking forward to our stay. We stayed two nights on the DBB rate. I honestly cannot believe how good value this was and I really couldn't see a reason to stay anywhere else now to be honest! The food was nice, with plenty of choice and really... More

A hearty breakfast, and good fitness facilities. This added to the location, 10 minutes walk from the front , was perfect for us on a family break. The management were very obliging- a great value holiday. More

we have just returned from a two night stay at The Red House with two children. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The hotel has a lovely friendly, relaxed atmosphere. The games room was a godsend for the kids. The room was adequate for... More

The Red House hotel was very welcoming and friendly. There were 11 of us on a hen do and they happily met all of our requests (and there were some very demanding girls) The staff were lovely and the level of customer service was excellent. They booked us taxis, recommended restuarants, put our own champagne on ice, and looked after... More
