I only stayed for 1 night, but Sue made me feel extremely comfortable and at home as soon as I walked in. My room was absolutely spotless and had all the creature comforts anyone could desire, including satellite/freeview TV and even a DVD player. My bed was also extremely comfortable. Garlieston is also conveniently located about 10 minutes walk from... More

We have very fond memories of Garlieston, my wife and I spent our Honeymoon at Garlieston way back in 1954!!. We were there again in 1957 when we were expecting our daughter! So, it has always been there in our minds to return, so at last we made it, and was such a pleasant time for us, Sue and Alan... More

Sue was an absolute star from the first meeting and her warm and welcoming nature made us feel very relaxed and feel right at home. The whole house was beautifully airy and bright. Our room was clean and fresh with all the facilities we could need and much more. The location was quiet and only a short walk to the... More

Me, my Wife and my two teenage children have stayed at the Garlieston Guest House in Torquay for our summer holidays on three occasions. The guest house is run by Alan and Sue - a really accomodating and friendly couple who go out of their way to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. The rooms are high quality, including shower... More

The title does not do it justice, it does not describe the friendly welcome from two genuine people intent on making your stay special. The breakfasts are tremendous, the choice will satisfy anyones taste. When we return to torquay again we hope that we will be able to stay at the Garlieston wih Sue and Alan, who treated us like... The Garlieston is home from home, where nothing is too much trouble. Super clean rooms, with many extras. Fridge, flat screen TV, DVD, Email facility, safe. The breakfast choice is excellent with and eight item cooked breakfast and a most excellent home made marmalade. It is a short walk from Torquay front, bus stops and railway station. Also a short... We found this guest house by chance, and I now consider it a real stroke of luck. We hadn't booked ahead, so we just knocked on guest houses until we found one we liked. The other guest houses we found didn't really want to take us for one night, but the owners, Sue and Alan, were more than happy to... More
