We stayed here as we were attending a function close by - the Smithaleigh was lovely. Very easy to find, great value and a great breakfast. The room we had was perhaps slightly on the older side but it didnt really matter as we knew we werent booking a brand new modern hotel. The bathroom was perfect and the shower... More

The Smithaleigh was easy to find, located just off the A38 just before Plymouth. We checked in and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room (No 4) located just across the courtyard, the room was very pleasant with enough room for the two of us. the bathroom was a nice size with a bath... More

Attended a family wedding in Aug 2011, we were told before wedding that the only room with disabled access was upstairs but unfortunately no lift in use! Booked another hotel (Future Inn) for an overnight stay which was great for wheelchair user. Unfortunately was not advised there would be no toilet with disabled access. This is a nice hotel but... Were a bit unsure about a hotel/motel next to main road but have found service friendly, helpful and engaging. Rooms are what you need, clean and airy. Quality and price of food very good - had breakfast, lunch and dinner and all good. Even got real beer! Matthew Last August 2011 More

I had a superior garden room in an older building and our Daughters had a slightly cheaper room in the more modern main building. Rooms were fine. I would probably choose the more modern rooms if staying again... More

Slightly delayed in writing this but we stayed at this location for a second time in the exact same circumstances as the first. There is little point restating my first review other than the room we had, had had the decor refreshed. Travelling some distance, we found The Proprietors as equally obliging with the midnight arrival. Clean fresh room. Excellent... More

Having spent 2 nights at the Smithaleigh Hotel for a family wedding we were extremely impressed with the welcome, service and overall execution of a very large wedding. The managers and staff worked tirelessly to make our visit wonderful and we would like to thank them very much. Having read the previous review I do not think it can be... More
