As a regular business traveller, Plymouth makes a good base for my customers in Devon and Cornwall. This hotel is below the standard for the Holiday Inn brand hotels with rickety lifts and a very outdated 70's concrete exterior. If you're going on business the rooms are fine, but don't stay here if you are looking for a nice place to stay. Being an affordable Holiday Inn this place will never be short of customers, but it could do with a major makeover. more

Plymouth's my favourite place and as a result I've stayed in most of the big hotels in the city.

The Holiday Inn (as it's now known) isn't bad, but it is looking a bit shabby now. The rooms are OK, but could do with things like new furniture, which looks very 70's - not good for a modern hotel.

The views are great, and the restaurant passable. Located at the far (less nice) end of the Hoe, it's a bit of a pain if you fancy walking to a decent restaurant, but perhaps that's just me getting really picky!

OK - bit tired, but not bad prices.
