Room/hotel shabby, clutter in all the halls, room wasn't cleaned all day while we were away for the day. Sloppy quick job when we asked for it to be cleaned. 9 AM breakfast time and no one was up, the door was locked so we couldn't get in the pub dining area, finally a very sleepy employee came rushing down... On arrival we were just handed the room keys and pointed in the general direction of the rooms, imagine our surprise when my Wife and I opened the door of our room only to find that the room was just as the previous occupants... This is the 2nd year that we have stayed at the Village Inn for our wedding anniversary. Bev, Mark, (and Rolo the dog) were very welcoming and friendly. I cannot remember the names of all the other staff, but they were all hard working and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 4 this year and it was... More

Just stayed at the village inn in Lynmouth. We only stayed one night and Bev, Mark and Tom made us feel very welcome. There were 6 of us on a walking trip and had 3 double rooms. All 6 of us were very happy and would come back again. Obviously this time of year it's a bit quiet but we... More

Stayed at 20 B&Bs en route from Lands End to John O'Groats. As 70 year olds we value comfort, quiet, service. Village Inn met all of those at price which was slightly below average for our tour. Particular room we had was smaller than average with no view - not a problem for us, but worth checking on different rooms... More

We spent 2 very pleasant nights at the Village Inn. Bev and Mark made us so welcome, made the arrangements for us to be picked up and brought back from the wedding, Mark also put our breakfast table in front of the telly so we could watch the Rugby World cup whilst we ate, his funny banter was refreshing. The rooms... In the area this week & on Tuesday it was very wet so stayed in here most of the day.... The soggy dogs welcome sign outside made us laugh & we were treated with a lovely welcome from Razor the manager. He was really informative about the area & made all of the 11 dogs that were in there feel... More
