Our quiet and clean space, a stones throw from Newquay's town centre and bay beaches can accommodate both small families or large respectful groups. We have a maximum capacity of 20 and all our rooms are semi en-suite facilities providing our guests with a private shower and sink. The Green House has a large communal lounge and a south facing garden with a large patio and BBQ area where you can relax and catch some Cornish rays. The Green House is a family business and we can be on hand to assist you as much or as little as you'd like. We are located not too close to town centre that you are disturbed by the 'sounds' during the wee hours but also not too far either - the walk into town is a few minutes - not too close to town that you are disturbed by the 'sounds' from the town centre during the wee hours but not to far either - Berties Nightclub is an easy 380 meters away and our nearest beach just 480 meters away.
Brilliant stay Mark very hospitable guy. Rooms were clean and he made sure we and another family had a bunk room to ourselves so more like a family room in the backpackers. Spread the other guests out so wherever possible we all had own rooms. Lovely beach style shack so not fussy that we had bikes in amongst surfboards - cruisy style. Continental breakfast and great nights sleep. Extended our stay cause found it so pleasant.

Response from thegreenhousenewquay, Manager at The Green House Surf Lodge
Responded 23 Mar 2017
This guest booked through booking.com who had managed to double book our rooms on a few occasions. We were very surprised to see these guests and immediately took the issue up with booking.com who responded positively. Thanks!

My partner and I stayed here for a night whilst on a surf break. When we arrived we were greeted by the owners brother and father, both very welcoming but it felt a little as if we'd wandered into a family home rather than a hotel. Some people may like this but it felt a little awkward. The room was an average size with a shower and toilet in the hallway but the building did have nice character features. We were told by the owner that the room wasn't re-booked the next day so not to rush checking out which was a really nice touch. Good location, close to town centre and a really short drive to fistral.

Great few nights in The Green House - epic location close to town but yet, quiet street to still get a bit of rest. Bed was super comfy too! Mark was super helpful and friendly, all round great host - will be back. Definitely recommend it.

My cousin who at the time was living in London and set this trip up for us. She mentioned Mark had been very good at keeping up correspondence with her. When we arrived in Newquay late in the day, Freddie was waiting for us. Luckily we visited Newquay in the off season, and had the whole place to ourselves. He showed us around and was very pleasant. Everyday someone came buy and emptied our trash and made sure we had the fridge stocked with milk. It was very clean and comfortable. We were unable to get online, one of my friends had to do something quick for work and we were unable to get on the internet. I had a great experience staying in the house. Super close to Downtown 5 min car ride or a 10 minute walk. There are a lot of places to eat and Aldi's supermarket. If i ever have the luck to visit Newquay, I would definitely stay here. Freddie, his ex wife, and Mark were an amazing energy that I appreciated to experience. Hope they are doing well.…

My wife 2 girls and I stayed here and it was great. Really reasonably priced and Mark couldn't do enough to help us. Rooms are a good size and spotlessly clean. House is very well located for town. Description provided by mark is bang on. We will probably return!

Everything about our stay at the Green House Surf Lodge was amazing. The owner Mark was very accessible via email before our stay, and his brother Freddie helped us during our stay. They are two incredibly sweet guys. Freddie spent ages answering our questions and getting us oriented to Newquay. The location is just a few minute walk from downtown. Our room was clean and comfortable. I felt very at home while I was there. The common room is large, with comfortable seating and a computer with internet. The wifi worked really well throughout our stay. I can't say enough about this place. I would go back in a second.

We stayed at the Green House for 3 nights. Our room for two was small but very comfortable.Very relaxed atmosphere and felt at home. There is plenty of room to park in the surrounding residential streets and its only a five minute walk from the bars and restaurants of Newquay. We will definitely consider staying again if we return to Newquay.

It was just a coincidence that we stayed at Marks place, a lucky coincidence!! When we arrived at the Green House we immediately felt home! Mark is a great person, who makes you feel very comfortable and who even takes time for a nice talk! We had a great barbecue and our night was calm and relaxing! And the price: unbeatable (and even negotiable)!! Thank you Mark!!

over the years i have stayed at plenty of surf lodges in cornwall, this places tops them all. good clean friendly atmosphere. it does everything it says on the tin. Mark there couldn't do enough to make our stay more enjoyable. and also very understanding with our wayward ways. i will be now using this as our base from here on out. i know it sounds cheasy but i have tried the rest and i do think this place is by far the best.
