The good news is that this hotel is situated close to a glorious beach in the lovely village of Porth. The bad news is that we had the misfortune to stay at this hotel which as other reviewers have said is past its sell by date. The car parking is cramped and impossible to leave until cars closest to the... more

Let's start with the positives. As the title suggests, the toilet flushed each time and the choice of cereals at breakfast was good....mmm, I think that's about it! When we arrived, the hotel appeared shabby and, as other reviews have stated, it is dated. When shown to our room, the stench of stale urine was quite overpowering and I needed... more

A booked a single room with some trepidation as the price was only £19 (including breakfast!!). The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the location (just out of Newquay centre) was good. If you want somewhere cheap to stay for a few nights then this is the place. more

Just returned from a long weekend at the Pendeen Hotel in Porth and could not really fault it. We paid extra for a seaview and it was well worth it, we were right across the road from Porth beach itself and it was a fantastic view. The breakfasts were excellent, full English every morning with choice of cereal and toasts... more

We booked a three night stay as a package including entrance to the Eden Project. They offer many similar deals to attract customers and succeed in getting these listed in various national newspapers and websites so top prize for marketing. We paid £89 each for B & B, which frankly was about what it should have been for the two... more

About 2 miles into Newquay, nice walk along the cliffs, fantastic customer service, felt as if we were friends come to stay. Our anniversary on the day we arrived, and hey ho a card and flowers in our room, what a lovely touch. Room slightly dated, bathroom could do with a refurbish but everywhere spotless, delicious breakfast, excelant customer service.... more

OK so the hotel is a bit 1970's but we had a great time. The room was spotless, my husband was a bit disappointed that it didn't have a shower but the bath was lovely, bed was comfortable and there was everything you needed. Breakfast was excellent, the morning waitress is amazing, although all the staff were very pleasant. The... more

Stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and 2 teenage daughters having booked a bargain break with travel zoo. What a find! Situated right opposite Porth beach which is a locals beach and never crowded. 15 minutes walk to newquay or Watergate Bay. Lovely quiet location. Rooms are compact but scrupulously clean and the showers were spot on! Fantastic... more

Excellent value for money. Good location, right on the beach in Porth, and only 15 minutes walk to Newquay centre. Rooms were small, but had all the facilities required. the breakfasts were enormous, and the staff were happy to provide anything you wanted. Overall a very good stay in Cornwall, would stay here again and recommend to others. more

Just returned from the Travel Zoo Garden Weekend in Cornwall. Paid just £89 for four nights, extra £9 for a sea view. This included tickets to Lost Gardens of Pelligon and the Eden Project. Hotel was very basic, but clean, bedroom with television, tea/coffee facilities and en-suite. Clean towels for 3 days whilst we were there. Cost included breakfast, full... more
