Avondale was perfect for my extended get away to relax and write. I stayed 3 weeks & enjoyed the blustery cliff tops, white stretches of sandy beach of Newquay as well as the nearby towns of Mawgan Porth & St Ives where I went to The Tate and Barbara Hepworth sculpture garden. Cornwall is fantastic for creative inspiration & just... More

My wife and two teenage sons spent 6 nights at Avondale and found it an excellent base to see the sites of Newquay and surrounding Cornwall. The breakfasts were excellent and were tailored to the different requirements of a hearty or healthy breakfast. and could be varied day to day. The mattresses were one of the most comfortable I've encoutered... More

This quirky little guest house was a fantastic place to stay. The decor is unusual and interesting, well worth a nosey around the house and looking at what's on the walls. Elliot the owner was very welcoming and he makes the best breakfast I have ever eaten. When I go back to Newquay I will certainly be staying there again,... More

We have stayed with Elliot, at the Avondale for 3 years running now, twice in summer and once in April. On all occasions we always feel very welcome, the price is reasonable and there is generous discounting for children of which we have 4 (ages now 15,13, 12 and 7) so take 3 rooms, most recently on the 1st floor.... I have stayed at this B&B for eight years on the run, firstly as a place very close to the town centre for stag weekends and later as our anual lads jolly away from our other halves. In terms of value, location, free parking, decent breakfast, cleanliness and personal service, you really cannot do much better. I have also stayed... More

The Avondale has, deliberately, cultivated an olde worlde charm. The latterday period pieces of luggage, furniture and ornaments suggest an earlier era while the modern facilities - en suite, TV, coffee maker in dining room - make sure that you have the expected comforts. The location is mere minutes from the sea and town centre and the surf was up... More

We stayed at Room 7 for two consecutive nights. It's a double en-suite bedroom, of an average size, but apparently with the best sea view out of the 8 rooms in the B&B. The room got pretty bright at around 7am as there were just ordinary (not black out) curtains. The design of the rooms and the B&B in general... More
