My mother and I stayed at Hawthorne Dene for 1 night as we had to attend a funeral. We stayed in Mortimer's room which was Twin Bedded, the view was lovely as we could sit on the window seat and lookout towards the sea. The ensuite was great my only criticism was that there was nowhere to put your washbag... More

We have stayed at the Hawthorne Dene many times over the years, with and without offspring, and have always been satisfied and well catered for. The couple who own and run the hotel offer a warm welcome and a positive response to any needs, and have put their own stamp on this property that has a unique appeal for us.... More

Just had an overnight stay, very good value. My room had a lovely view across the Fal estuary - very warm in fact had to turn the heating off. Good ensuite facilities plenty of hot water - macerator a bit noisy. Some traffic noise at front of house but very quiet at night. A substantial full English breakfast set me... More

The Hawthorne is situated on a hill overlooking the bay. This gives you breath taking skies in the morning and a nice view during breakfast. The rooms are named and the reason will be clear :-) Take one person room Humphrey! The walls are paved with historical pictures going back a long time. Take some time to absorb them. The... More

We stayed just one night because we were attending a function at a hotel round the corner which was full. The accomodation has an 'old fashioned' feel to it but all the facilities are good. Our 'luxury' room was large as was our firned's, who also stayed. Both their bed and our bed were uncommonly comfortable! Lovely views. Each room... More

A one night dash - arrived at 13.30 needing to shower and change for a wedding, they accommodated this early check-in. Room was fine for one person staying one night, but I wouldn't want to spend a week in it with my wife. The bathroom was very small and I only just fitted into the shower! Breakfast was satisfactory, but... More

We had a room at the top of the house with spectacular views across to the sea and Pendennis Castle. Although the bed was a little too hard for my liking. The sloping ceiling on one side of the room was too low for my husband to sleep on his usual side of the bed and even at 5' 2''... More

Our trip was to safely deposit our daughter at Tremough Campus, we chose this B & B as it was just far away enough to allow us all some distance but equally be close enough to deliver all of the last minute things she had forgotten! Our room was very comfortable & the bed particularly so. The breakfast was delicious... More

This was a charming little hotel, that didn't charge a single person's supplement. The house is a gorgeously quirky Victorian house with fantastic views of the sea, if you are lucky enough to have a front of house room. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast was excellent and included Gluten Free options. Gluten free may not sound like much... More

Some excellent aspects of the stay but some criticisms. It was a lovely old guest house with lots of character, family photos etc and a pleasant hostess! Our room was at the top of the house a pretty steep couple of flights of stairs...no problems for my husband and I as we are fit and the views were absolutely lovely... More
