I have stayed at The Falmouth Hotel several times. They are gradually updating and renovating the place and I find it improves each visit. My room had been recently decorated and was quiet and comfortable, overlooking the sea, with views towards the castle. My only criticism would be that there was no lighting at the dressing table to put make... More

This is an older hotel but still nice. They only have wifi in the lobby though. The rooms were clean but had a old, musky smell. It helped a little leaving the window open. Otherwise the food and service was great.

Dear SmTwilight, Thank you for your comments about your recent stay with us, and the praise that you had for our food and service. We only have wifi on our ground floor at present, and have a hard wired ethernet connection in every bedroom. We are installing wifi throughout the hotel, on all floors later this month. I ma not... We booked in for a couple of nights as a birthday surprise. The hotel were doing a deal on dinner bed and breakfast. After an initial problem with checking in, we were allocated a sea view room. The room itself was nicely furnished and in good order. The bathroom was a little tired but clean. The only downside was that... More

Dear Devonbloke, Thank you for your feedback on your stay in January. I was hoping to be able to discover more about the initial problem you faced on check-in, but without further details it has proved quite difficult. I am hoping that it was resolved quickly for you. The best compliment that we can receive is when a guest says... More

Having read recent reviews for the hotel we were aware that much of the hotel is "tired", and this does seem to be the case. We were however pleasantly surprised by our room which has evidently been the subject of an overhaul (room 414) and generally was much better than we had expected - with the exception of the shower... Dear Cornish-Mandi, Thank you for your review of your stay this weekend, and I hope that alongside enjoying the hotel, that you and your friends enjoyed the Ruby Wedding celebrations! Room 201 is one of my favourite rooms, and is often disregarded by people on booking due to its "inland" status. Everyone seems to forget that due to our unique... More

We went as part of a group of four couples for a winter break in February. One couple, who had stayed before, decided to upgrade to a suite. The rest of us had sea facing rooms. Our room was newly decorated, clean and spacious with a stunning view out to sea. We were all made very welcome and given tea... More

This beautiful hotel was built in 1850 and stands proud on Falmouth sea front looking quite magnificent. The present manager has begun some updating and discovered the original mosaic flooring underneath the tired foyer carpet; incredible history. The rooms are wonderfully comfortable and very clean. This could be a very nice Hotel but it does need a bit of work to bring it up to scratch, it has been stated in other reviews that Hotel is undergoing renovation but some things such as stair carpets should have been replaced several years ago. Dear FrankJ123, Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us. I completely agree that some areas of the hotel, like the carpets that you have referred to, should have been replaced some years ago. Unfortunately, due to a myriad of reasons they were not, and the hotel has suffered for it. But that was then, and this... More

Hotel looking a bit tired and could do with some TLC. The door to our room was white but around the lock and handle it was black - could do with a real good wash down. Falmouth is a very good location to explore south Cornwall. The town is vibrant with plenty to do. The Falmouth hotel is ideally situated, seafront location, walking distance from the town and beaches, just a shame it's so poor. The hotel is quite run down and needs some TLC.
