We have just had dinner at the Cheshire Cat Christleton and I was appalled at the meal we had. Admittedly when we arrived and the full menu was not available it was not a good sign. The food had obviously been made some hours before and been sitting waiting for a buyer!! I can't belive we had just spent our... More

Oh dear. Why do they make the same mistake again. Booked an outside room and rang the lodge to confirm before booking - it was even written in the lodge diary - must have an outside room - and, for the second time were refused one. This was a complimentary stay for a poor visit last time. How do places... More

My partner and I stayed here for one night and had a very enjoyable experience. All of the staff we met were polite and courteous including the woman that checked us in, the waiter in the restaurant and the women on breakfast duty. The room was spacious enough (rm 5) with a bathroom just across a small landing - don't... More

This was one of the advance rate bookings @ £21. We should have known better, that we would be put in the worst room in the place. In the annex room 9. Small narrow room with the desk in the hallway to the room. Wardrobe blocking the archway, with 2/3rds of the access cut off into the bedroom area (see... More

Just got back from an overnight stay at the Cheshire Cat near Chester, lovely pub, cosy and very welcoming. Great food and very friendly staff. The bedroom was fairly spacious and had everything you could possibly need for a short break. The pub is set in a lovely setting, with a large outdoor eating/drinking area overlooking pleasant gardens and a canal.Breakfast... More

Have stayed here on 4 occasions now and have been impressed every time. The only small snag is the fact that it is attached to a very busy pub and it can get difficult to check in at busy times but the staff are excellent and the rooms are very clean and comfortable,There are also rooms in the converted stable... We dined here on saturday 11/02/12. We had the Valentines menu- a 3 course meal for £16.95 each, we chose the sharing platter- pate, bread, chicken gourjons, garlic mushrooms & lovely gruyere cheese-baked-delicious. My husband chose steak,he had chips (lovely & chunky),peas, onion rings & a tomato,he said it was gorgeous but he should of chose a sauce to go with it! I chose... More

We booked The Cheshire Cat for a one night mid week stay to celebrate my birthday. We arrived at about 3.30pm and were booked in by a very informative young man who booked us our table for evening meal and having told him we were about to walk along the canal which runs alongside the hotel, gave us tips on...
