This was the first place we stopped to eat after our arrival in Chester for a weekend away. We had 2 full afternoon teas, and I must say they contain a lot of food, that neither me or my mother managed to finish. Everything was excellent, friendly staff, good food, location and a spacious place. Bathrooms were also very clean.... More

For those who haven't recently been to the coach house chester, it's really gotten quite excellent. This is a classic (and classy) family-run restaurant. The restaurant's atmosphere is sophisticated but, at the same time, almost homey, making the coach house a very pleasant dining experience. Prices, too, are reasonable for the quality, though certainly not cheap. My only complaint is... More

Recently spent one night at the Coach with my daughter for a Visit to the University. Encouraged by the positive reviews I thought id pay out for a 4 star treat in the centre of Chester. Firstly the reception area is just a tiny booth set within the the public bar and restaurant area which seemed to be manned by... More

Thank you for taking the time to write these useful comments. We are sorry to hear you were disappointed in the Coach House. I would just like to point out we are not classed as a 4 star hotel but as a 4 star restaurant with rooms which, is a different classification. This is no excuse however and we should... More

So glad to have found this place - gorgeous large room with real character and very high cleanliness and attention to detail. Perhaps a little pricey but more than met expectations and for a treat I can't imagine anywhere better in the area. Really comfortable and homely - the perfect base from which to explore Chester. My wife and I stayed at the Coach House last Friday for one night. We had a voucher bought for us as a Christmas present that we eventually got round to use. We had a wonderful stay at the Coach House and cannot fault the friendly welcome from all staff that we engaged with. We stayed in room 6 which... More

Went to Coach House for lunch yesterday and have got to say the food was absolutely amazing. They have changed the menu and there is a selection for everybody whether you want a snack as some of our party did or a 3 course meal that one or two of us did!! Portion sizes seem to have increased but without... More

Had a lovely impromtu stay earlier this week - had intended to find a cosy country pub between Northwich & Chester but it didn't happen and we ended up in the city centre. What a great find this was - ask for room 5 - it's huge with double aspect windows and a great view into the town hall square... More

We were bought a gift of aTraditional Afternoon Tea for two, which we were really looking forward too. So disappointed. The finger sandwiches were stale, the plate of cakes looked as if they had been lying around for days. The crockery was dirty. The standards of food and hygiene were abysmal. More
